Event Operations Manager for Global Sustainability Initiatives

We are currently recruiting for a dynamic Event Operations Manager to lead the event operations department in our Climate Action team.

This exceptional opportunity involves supporting us in delivering a portfolio of events that drive tangible partnerships between business, government, policy makers and investors to accelerate the global transition to net zero.

As Event Operations Manager, you will lead on the operational delivery of conferences and exhibitions from conception to completion. Key responsibilities include managing event logistics, onsite event management, customer experience planning, sponsor and exhibitor management, budget management, cost containment, venues/service providers' selection and management.

This role demands perfection at all times and requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

The successful applicant will have extensive international conference and exhibition experience with a strong track record in operational management, including sponsor liaison, international event delivery, budget management, registration, customer service, venue/supplier management, health and safety, risk assessments.

Experience in digital event delivery on various platforms is also essential, as well as a flexible approach to running events under tight time frames and meeting client demands.

A strong interest in climate change and sustainability is vital, along with a desire to organise successful global events with a sustainability approach to reduce carbon footprint.

The ideal candidate will have experience in leading operations for conferences and exhibitions on various scales, with capabilities of running events for 1000+ people, negotiating, procuring, selecting, contracting and managing vendors/suppliers.

Budget and cost containment experience is also required, as well as efficiency in working in a fast-paced environment, independent working style, strong time management and multi-tasking skills.

Excellent organisational skills, leadership abilities, communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for negotiating and managing internal & external stakeholders and clients.

A positive work ethic, can-do attitude, self-motivation, ability to take responsibility and travel without restriction are also essential qualities for this role.

The salary for this position is approximately £55,000-£65,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a generous bonus scheme, ethical pension plan, and comprehensive wellbeing benefits.
