Stores Controller

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Stores Controller to join our team at Galliford Try. As a Stores Controller, you will be responsible for controlling the material storage supply arrangements and facilities, ensuring that materials are stored safely and security processes are implemented to prevent any unauthorized material being taken from stores.
Key Responsibilities:
- Control of the material storage supply arrangements and facilities.
- Develop new and maintain existing material stock systems.
- Process material requisitions from colleagues through the implementation of agreed processes and information systems.
- Take a leading role in the annual and periodic material stores and van stock taking activities.
- Use company information systems technology to process data that monitors internal material store stocks and records material transactions with suppliers and colleagues.
- Help with the development of Departmental Plans, ensuring compliance and departmental performance.
- Continually identify risks and areas for improvement/opportunity/waste/non-value-added and communicate these in the most appropriate format to the respective recipient in a timely manner.
- Provide leadership, support, and guidance to subordinates where applicable.
- Develop knowledge, which is subsequently embedded within the process and knowledge systems to speed up and inform decision making.
- Possess strong and effective inter-personal and communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of clients and personnel.
- Ensure full compliance with the Company's Business Assurance Standards in all relevant reporting, documentation, record keeping, and procedures.
- Ensure the personal safety and safe working environment of staff.
About You:
- Experience of Purchasing/Supply Chain Management/Logistics within a fast-moving customer-focused environment.
- Commercial awareness.
- Health and Safety awareness.
- Excellent IT skills – including but not limited to, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, and Databases.
- Supply Chain Management/Logistics.
- Knowledge of Sage Line or Sage.
- Knowledge of Change Management.
Desirable Experience:
- CIPS Level.
- Forklift Licence.
