About the Job:

As a 4-year engineering apprentice with Briggs Equipment Ltd, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of materials handling and powered access equipment. You will gain hands-on experience, starting with shadowing your mentor and other engineers, progressing to performing tasks under supervision, then alongside qualified engineers where your work will be checked and signed off.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete the 3-year apprenticeship qualification: Level 3 Lift Truck and Powered Access Engineering Technician Apprenticeship standard
  • Gain on-the-job experience, including manual labor and administrative tasks
  • Work will be carried out on customers' premises and at Briggs Equipment Ltd workshop locations within your specified region

Requirements:

  • GCSEs at grade 4/C or Scottish National 5 Grade C or above in English, Science & Mathematics (or equivalent) - Desirable
  • Basic knowledge of the principles of health and safety
  • Basic IT skills, i.e., email, websites, text documents
  • Able to complete apprenticeship qualification tasks independently, managing and prioritizing own workload, working to deadlines under pressure
  • Clear, polite, and professional verbal and written communication skills, to work effectively with mentors, line managers, customers, and other members of the Briggs Equipment Ltd teams

What We Offer:

The estimated salary for this position is £15,700 in Year 1, progressing each year to £25,000 in Year 4, subject to satisfactory performance. Additional benefits include company uniform and PPE, brand-new stocked toolboxes, float to pay for travel expenses, and contributory pension scheme.
