Senior Catering Operations Manager

Job Purpose
To ensure the efficient and effective delivery of a catering service that meets the needs of students, staff, and parents. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team to provide a high-quality food service that promotes customer satisfaction and sales within the unit(s).
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Service Delivery/Operational Issues
- Plan, coordinate, and execute skilled cooking activities to provide a full range of menu options, including preparation of menus, portion control, special dietary meals, and function catering.
- Organize and supervise food service operations, including all aspects of service points and the transportation of meals.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote the service through parents, principals, and customers to increase meal uptake.
- Ensure that the kitchen and dining centers meet current standards of food safety legislation.
- Ensure all catering practices comply with appropriate Health and Safety Legislation.
- Secure the unit and ensure effective communication links with the school on all aspects of service delivery.
- Ensure effective communication at all levels through regular staff meetings.
People Management
- Supervise and direct other employees, including allocating duties and work rotas.
- Actively participate in the implementation of all policies relating to staff issues, such as managing attendance, disciplinary, and grievance.
- Provide induction and ongoing staff training.
Financial
- Complete clerical duties associated with the efficient running of the kitchen, including cash handling.
- Manage all resources, including food, labor, overheads, and equipment.
General Conditions
- Carry out all duties in compliance with Acts of Parliament, Statutory Instruments, and Regulations, and other Legal requirements.
- Complete all necessary administration as required.
- Promote and adhere to the Values/ethos of the School.
