Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Catering Supervisor to join our team at the Education Authority. The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of a catering service to our students.

Main Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and supervise the preparation and serving of meals to meet the dietary needs of our students.
  • Ensure that all food safety and hygiene standards are met, and that the kitchen and dining areas are maintained to a high standard.
  • Manage and supervise a team of catering staff, including allocating duties and work rotas.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the catering service.
  • Monitor and control food costs, labor costs, and other expenses to ensure that the catering service is operated within budget.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that the catering service meets the needs of our students and staff.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong background in food service management.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations, and the ability to maintain high standards in this area.

Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to delivering a high-quality service. The role will involve working in a kitchen environment, with exposure to heat, noise, and other hazards. The successful candidate will be required to wear a uniform and adhere to the Education Authority's health and safety policies.
