As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with lead teachers to deliver individualized instruction, following tailored lesson plans and IEPs. You will support students in developing communication, social, and life skills through structured activities and one-on-one guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist lead teachers in delivering individualized instruction to children with autism.
  • Support students in developing communication, social, and life skills.
  • Help manage the classroom environment to ensure a calm, organized, and safe space for all students.
  • Provide students with support during transitions.
  • Use positive reinforcement and other behaviour management techniques to assist students in meeting their behavioural and academic goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to monitor and assess student progress.
  • Support students with personal care needs, as required.
  • Foster a trusting and encouraging relationship with students, building confidence and promoting independence.
  • Maintain accurate records of student activities, progress, and any incidents.
