Maintenance Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at a Midlands-based manufacturer of plastic and polymer products. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide maintenance support to production, maximizing uptime through planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown solutions.
  • Perform improvements and rectifications on rubber and plastic processing machinery/ancillaries, escalating details of breakdowns, solutions, timescales, and costs.
  • Document maintenance tasks and issues, identifying root cause and remedial action to help identify and resolve recurring issues.
  • Liaise with equipment suppliers, service support, and contractors to remedy problems and order spares.
  • Assist in the introduction of new plant and equipment.
  • Participate in improvement projects, including processes, products, and tooling.
  • Identify, report, and remedy any potential health and safety concerns.
Requirements:
  • Time-served Mechanical/Electrical Engineer with appropriate qualifications.
  • Education to City & Guilds level 3 or equivalent.
  • Experience maintaining and repairing rubber and plastic processing machinery/ancillaries.
  • Experience within a FMCG, manufacturing environment.
  • Competence with electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to use workshop equipment.
What We Offer:
  • A competitive salary of £40,000 - £45,000.
  • Flexible working hours, with the option to choose between 6am - 2pm or 2pm - 10pm shifts.
