A leading manufacturer of plastic and polymer products in the Midlands is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their team. As a key member of the engineering department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of production processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide maintenance support to production teams, maximizing uptime through planned and reactive maintenance solutions.
- Perform improvements and rectifications on rubber and plastic processing machinery and ancillaries, documenting tasks and issues to identify root causes and implement remedial actions.
- Liaise with equipment suppliers, service support, and contractors to resolve problems and order spare parts.
- Assist in the introduction of new plant and equipment, ensuring seamless integration into production processes.
- Contribute to improvement projects, including process, product, and tooling enhancements.
- Time-served Mechanical or Electrical Engineer with relevant qualifications.
- City & Guilds level 3 or equivalent education.
- Experience in maintaining and repairing rubber and plastic processing machinery and ancillaries.
- Background in a FMCG or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Competence in using workshop equipment.
- Flexibility to work a rotating shift pattern (6am-2pm or 2pm-10pm) or choose a permanent shift.
