Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and provide accurate diagnoses for students with various psychological, emotional, and behavioural issues.
  • Develop and implement individualized intervention plans, providing therapeutic support using a range of evidence-based approaches suitable for children and adolescents.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student wellbeing. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to develop and review care plans.
  • Provide training and support to school staff on mental health issues and strategies to support students. Offer guidance and consultation to staff and parents regarding psychological concerns.
  • Stay updated with the latest research and developments in clinical psychology and child mental health. Implement new approaches and techniques to improve student support services.
  • Ensure all practices comply with relevant legal and ethical guidelines. Maintain accurate and confidential records, providing reports as required by the school.
Requirements
  • A Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in an educational or clinical setting.
  • Strong assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with research and best practices in clinical psychology.
