As a Therapy Specialist - Acute Care, you will play a vital role in our private clinic's multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality care to patients requiring acute occupational therapy services. Your Key Responsibilities
  • Discharge Planning and Coordination:
    • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to facilitate safe and efficient discharge planning.
    • Provide training and education for patients and their families on post-discharge activities and self-management strategies.
  • Team Leadership and Mentorship:
    • Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to junior OTs, therapy assistants, and students, supporting their development and clinical skills.
    • Conduct case discussions, team meetings, and training sessions to promote knowledge-sharing and best practices within the OT team.
  • Service Development and Quality Improvement:
    • Contribute to the development and enhancement of acute OT services within the clinic, implementing evidence-based protocols and practices.
    • Participate in clinical audits, research, and quality improvement initiatives to ensure high standards of care and continuous improvement.
    • Identify opportunities for service expansion or innovation that enhance patient outcomes and clinic reputation.
  • Communication:
    • Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals to share insights, coordinate care, and advocate for patients' needs.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you will need to possess a degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy, with full HCPC registration in the UK. A minimum of 3 years of experience (for Band 6) or 5+ years (for Band 7) in an acute care or rehabilitation setting, with exposure to complex case management, is required. Advanced clinical skills in acute assessment, ADL training, cognitive and physical rehabilitation, and discharge planning are essential.
