**Role Overview**

The Scottish Government is seeking an exceptional Automation Expert to join its Corporate Transformation Directorate. This is a pivotal role within the newly formed Automation Team, responsible for managing agile projects and supporting the development of AI-powered automated solutions.

In this position, you will collaborate with senior stakeholders and end-users to identify automation opportunities, design, develop, test, and maintain automations. Your strategic mindset and expertise in process optimization techniques will be crucial in driving quality and effective risk management.

As a key member of the team, you will oversee the design, build, testing, and deployment of automation process solutions, defining process and technical solutions, prototyping, configuring digital components, and collaborating with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Lead and encourage the team to take a holistic approach to identify automation opportunities
  • Apply a strategic mind-set to Automation, seeking commonality in processes and patterns
  • Oversee and advise on the design, build, testing, and deployment of automation process solutions
  • Identify and manage obstacles to help the team to overcome them while balancing multiple priorities
  • Define control mechanisms and oversee the prioritization, investigation, and resolution of issues and change requests in the production environment
