Cloud Automation Expert

Head Resourcing is partnering with a leading retail bank in the UK to find an experienced Cloud Automation Expert to join their Infrastructure Engineering team in Edinburgh or Leeds. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain virtualization solutions across the organization, leveraging Azure technology to drive innovation and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implement: Develop and implement virtualization solutions that address business needs and provide significant benefits.
  • Mentorship and Development: Support and develop the skills of junior team members, enhancing the team's overall capabilities.
  • Strategic Influence: Promote new technology approaches underpinned by modern principles, driving innovation and growth.
  • Vendor Collaboration: Collaborate with vendors to ensure their products align with the organization's strategic objectives.

Technical Requirements:

Infrastructure and Virtual Desktop:

  • Proven experience in AVD engineering within a commercial environment, with certifications up to AZ104 and AZ140.
  • Expertise in AVD architecture, deployment options, management tools, and security best practices.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure & Configuration as Code using tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Bicep, or Terraform.
  • Experience in building and deploying secure AVD environments through CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of image development and management using Packer or Azure Image Builder.
  • Skills in using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics for proactive monitoring and troubleshooting of Infrastructure as Code based AVD environments.

Automation and Programming:

  • Proficiency with automation tools such as Logic Apps, Functions, Azure Automation, and Event Grid.
  • Knowledge of scripting and programming languages like PowerShell, KQL, and YAML for automating AVD-related tasks.
