Job Summary
Birmingham and Solihull Women's Aid is seeking a dedicated professional to deliver tailored, holistic support to women affected by violence and abuse living in the community. This role will provide practical and emotional assistance to increase women's and children's safety and meet identified needs.

About Us
We are a leading charity in tackling violence against women and girls, offering a helpline, webchat, drop-in, and community support, as well as emergency accommodation in six refuges across the area. Our projects support women in the criminal justice system, in healthcare settings, and throughout the community.

About You
We seek like-minded women to join our enthusiastic team of workers, passionate about supporting women and children who have experienced domestic abuse and tackling the wider issues of violence against women and girls. As a successful candidate, you will possess excellent communication skills, empathy, and a commitment to empowering women to regain control over their lives.

Key Responsibilities
This role involves delivering tailored support to women, including:
  • Practical assistance with daily living tasks
  • Emotional support and counseling
  • Referral to external services and agencies

You will work closely with colleagues to ensure seamless service delivery and contribute to the development of new initiatives to support women and children affected by domestic abuse.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on women and children
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A non-judgmental approach and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations, preferably in a social care or advocacy setting

You will be required to work collaboratively with other teams and stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery and contribute to the growth and development of the organization.

Benefits
Birmingham and Solihull Women's Aid offers a competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, dependent on experience, plus benefits including:
