Pathology Support Worker

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our Pathology Reception team as a Pathology Support Worker. This is a part-time vacancy, working between the hours of 12:00 and 18:00, with the opportunity to work weekends after completion of training.
Key Responsibilities- Receive, sort, and process clinical samples, identifying and resolving problems such as leaking samples, labelling errors, and missing information.
- Perform accurate data input on computers for prolonged periods of time, maintaining attention to detail and following standard operating procedures.
- Answer calls on the Pathology enquiry line, giving results, information, and advice within their competency.
- Take significant numbers of requests for supplementary tests, find the appropriate sample, and order the test(s), contacting the requestor about any issues this may cause.
- Good communication skills, via telephone, face-to-face, and electronically.
- Medical terminology knowledge is desirable.
- Team player and individual worker, able to prioritize workload.
