Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Director to lead our commercial strategy and drive business growth within Vistry North Central Midlands. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for defining and implementing a commercial approach that balances risk with opportunity for income generation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a commercial strategy that aligns with the company's overall business objectives.
- Lead the governance of the Commercial team, ensuring proper accountability for all commercial activity and the development of appropriate control systems.
- Direct the performance of existing commercial business ventures, ensuring contracts are fulfilled and profit targets are delivered.
- Collaborate with the senior management team to guide the development of professional standards, commercial contracts, and service level agreements.
- Identify and manage commercial and other risks, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal procedural requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a commercial leadership role, preferably within the housebuilding sector.
- Strong understanding of building regulations and legal obligations, as well as construction contracts including JCT and NEC.
- Excellent analytical, oral, and presentation skills, with the ability to formulate commercial plans and ensure full engagement.
- A good understanding of sustainability and social value, with the ability to drive cultural change within the teams.
