Residential Deputy Manager Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Residential Deputy Manager to join our team at North Lakes Children's Services. As a key member of our management team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of care and support for our young people.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure the Statement of Purpose is in place and reflects the needs of our young people, outlining the qualifications, experience, and expertise of our staff.
  • Develop effective communication strategies and systems to facilitate information flow within the team.
  • Manage and develop quality direct services to young people, ensuring the implementation of North Lakes Children's Services policies and procedures.
  • Identify and meet staff training and development needs, providing support and guidance as required.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Regulations, inspecting the condition of our premises and equipment to ensure they meet acceptable standards.
  • Manage finance budgets, control, administration, and records in accordance with North Lakes Children's Services expectations and procedures.
  • Promote and implement the company's Equality and Diversity policies, ensuring staff understand and implement Child Protection Procedures.
  • Quality Assurance - Set, monitor, and evaluate standards at individual, team, and service quality levels.
  • Communication - Establish and manage team communications systems, ensuring effective communication of company procedures, policies, strategies, and objectives.
  • Professional Practice - Ensure professional practice is carried out to the highest standards, developed in line with company objectives for continual improvement in quality of service.
  • General Management - Provide vision and leadership to staff, ensuring effective systems are in place for workload allocation and management, application of company policies and procedures, and performance, personal development, health, and welfare.
  • Financial Management - Manage designated budgets, ensuring value for money through monitoring and control of expenditure and early identification of financial irregularities.
  • Supervision and Appraisal - Provide supervision and appraisal to all staff, following company procedures.
  • Equality and Diversity - Promote a just society, giving everyone an equal chance to learn, work, and live free from discrimination and prejudice.
  • Confidentiality - Maintain confidentiality of personal and confidential information.
  • Induction - Participate in the induction program, including the CWDC -day course, to support new employees in their roles.
Requirements
  • Understanding of issues facing young people in care.
  • Hold Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People's Workforce/NVQ Level in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Willingness to learn and develop.
  • Ability to work well as part of a small team.
  • Willingness to undertake a DBS check at enhanced level.
  • Experience with Emotional Behavioural Disorder, Social/Residential Work, or Youth Work is advantageous.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence and ability to cover at other Residential Homes as needed.
