Job Title: Formulation Development Team Leader

Cosmetic and pharmaceutical formulation expert sought by CK Group- Science, Clinical and Technical to lead formulation development activities for a well-established pharmaceutical company in Bedford.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop new cosmetic and pharmaceutical formulations, including skincare and personal care products, topical and transdermal formulations.
  • Manage a small team of formulation chemists, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive projects from concept to launch, ensuring quality, safety, and efficacy standards are met.
  • Design, plan, and develop robust formulations based on project briefs, utilizing methodical experimental design and suitable test methods.
  • Document research and development activities to a high standard, ensuring timely completion of project milestones.
  • Stay informed about industry advancements and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities to drive process improvements and foster innovation.
  • Maintain excellent communication with line managers and team members, interacting and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in cosmetic or pharmaceutical sciences.
  • Experience in formulation development of skincare or personal care, topical or transdermal formulations, preferably in cosmetics or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Strong knowledge of cosmetic/pharmaceutical ingredients and their interactions.
  • Familiarity with cosmetic, medicinal, or medical device regulations.
  • Demonstrate strong HPLC, GC, and wet chemistry skills.
  • Passion for continuous learning and a growth mindset.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
