Job Title: Formulation Development Team Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled Formulation Development Team Leader to join our team at Atom Recruitment Ltd. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a successful Pharmaceutical and Personal Care manufacturing company.

Job Purpose:

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new cosmetic and pharmaceutical formulations, managing a small team of Formulation Chemists, and ensuring the company's quality, safety, and efficacy standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, plan, and develop robust formulations from concept to commercial launch.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating methodical experimental design, meticulous execution, and precise data analysis.
  • Document all research and development activities to a high standard and in a timely manner.
  • Manage and mentor a small team of Formulation Chemists, ensuring appropriate training is provided.
  • Lead and support formulation development activities, including pre-clinical and clinical stage products and scale-up of potential formulations to pilot scale.
  • Support technology transfer of development products into commercial manufacture.
  • Stay informed about industry advancements and emerging technologies, identifying potential opportunities to drive process improvements and foster innovation.
Requirements:
  • BSc (or equivalent) or higher in cosmetic or pharmaceutical sciences.
  • Expert knowledge in hands-on formulation design and development of topical formulations.
  • Experience in formulation development of skincare or personal care, topical / transdermal formulations, preferably in cosmetics or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Strong knowledge of cosmetic / pharmaceutical ingredients and their interactions.
  • Familiarity with cosmetic, medicinal, or medical device regulations.
