PRS is a specialist data centre organisation offering design, build, maintenance, and project delivery services to its UK-based customers. As an experienced technical services manager, you will oversee planned and reactive maintenance at client sites, as well as contribute to project delivery.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity has arisen due to internal promotion, with the company seeking a skilled engineer with extensive data centre experience to join their team. Based in East Sussex, you will be responsible for key account management of a portfolio of data centre customers in the South East, and remotely for clients in Northern & Midlands regions.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical or mechanical engineering, preferably through formal apprenticeship, with at least five years of delivering M&E/HVAC services in a critical environment. Desired qualifications include HV/LV authorisation, PRINCE Project Management, ILM, IOSH/NEBOSH, or data centre specific courses such as CDCTP accreditation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure high-standard operation of critical facilities within Data Centres
  • Experience in HV Distribution, ideally AP/SAP standard
  • Undertake root cause analysis/post problem review of any technical faults
  • Carry out scenario/best drill training with engineering staff
  • Act as client interface to ensure customer satisfaction and understanding of technical systems and processes
  • Manage engineering team to ensure routine maintenance is carried out to all building plant, equipment, and systems to meet and exceed expectations and agreed service level agreements
  • To ensure timely planning and delivery of plant and System shutdowns and other long-term contractually committed works to meet contract programmes
  • Ensure all reactive repairs are undertaken safely and within appropriate time scales
  • Liaise, audit and manage our sub-contractors including pricing and quoting of small works
  • Working with the permit manager, ensure appropriate controls within the Permit to Work systems
  • Ensure that suitable spares and materials are available to carry out maintenance of the plant and assets
  • Support Service Delivery Managers to ensure all Statutory Compliance with and record keeping for Quality Management System
  • Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared for all tasks carried out to ensure safe working practices
  • Ensure that engineering subcontractors are appropriately supervised and comply with contractual commitments and site operating procedures
  • Ensure the provision of a safe & healthy working environment, and ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures, as well as client site policies, procedures, and working arrangements, as required
