Learning Support Professional

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Teaching Assistant, supporting students with mental health concerns.
The successful candidate will need to have experience in working with children and/or adults who can display challenging behaviour.
The role involves providing one-on-one or small group support sessions for students, focusing on strategies for emotional regulation and self-care.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the development and implementation of education plans for students with mental health concerns.
- Monitoring students' progress and communicating effectively with teachers regarding this.
- Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to all relevant privacy and safeguarding laws and regulations.
- Supporting teachers in managing the behaviour and specialist needs of students.
Qualifications include:
- Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or mental health setting.
- Strong understanding of mental health issues affecting students, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle crisis situations effectively.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed about best practices in mental health support for students.
- Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of child safeguarding and the ability to respond to concerns effectively and efficiently.
This role requires a strong understanding of the needs of students with mental health concerns and the ability to work as part of a team to provide effective support.
