Educational Support Assistant

Key Responsibilities:
As a Teaching Assistant with Teaching Personnel, you will provide essential support to students and staff in a dynamic educational setting.
Key areas of support include:
- Collaborating with teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans for students with mental health concerns.
- Conducting one-on-one or small group sessions to promote student emotional regulation, self-care, and well-being.
- Monitoring student progress and maintaining effective communication with teachers and other support staff.
- Upholding confidentiality and adhering to relevant safeguarding laws and regulations.
- Supporting teachers in managing student behavior and specialist needs.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or mental health setting.
- A strong understanding of mental health issues affecting students, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students and staff.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle crisis situations effectively.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed about best practices in mental health support for students.
- Clear understanding of child safeguarding procedures and ability to respond effectively and efficiently.
Working Conditions:
This role will involve working term-time, with set hours from 08:30 to 15:30. You will be working with students of primary and/or secondary age groups. Please note that this location does not have public transport links, so you must be able to drive and have access to a car.
