Learning Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Specialist to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a Learning Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting students with mental health concerns and creating a nurturing learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support sessions to students, focusing on emotional regulation, self-care techniques, and social skills development.
- Assist in developing and implementing education plans for students with mental health needs.
- Monitor student progress and maintain effective communication with teaching staff.
- Ensure confidentiality and adhere to relevant privacy and safeguarding laws.
- Collaborate with teachers to manage student behavior and specialist needs.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or mental health setting.
- Strong understanding of mental health issues affecting students, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle crisis situations effectively.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed about best practices in mental health support.
Working Terms:
The successful candidate will work term-time, from 08:30 – 15:30. This role involves working with students of primary and/or secondary age and requires the ability to drive and have a car.
