Job Overview

Ascend Airways is seeking a highly skilled Materials Controller to join our team at London Gatwick. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the procurement and logistics of aircraft requirements, including AOG and ADD demands, as well as routine stock purchasing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Purchase inventory for stock and specific aircraft requirements, ensuring timely delivery and accurate documentation.
  • Organize shipping and prioritize accordingly, taking into account demand status and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure exchanges and PBH supplied parts are closed in line with agreed terms, minimizing unnecessary costs.
  • Maintain inventory levels and consigned stock at line stations, including consumable and rotable parts, and ensure accuracy of stock and warehousing through computer-based stock control functions.
  • Work closely with accounts to ensure invoices are processed in line with business requirements and net terms.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Control and Technical services to ensure seamless information flow and effective communication.
  • Ensure quality is maintained, adhering to regulatory requirements, and report any breaches of quality standards through established processes.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives, leveraging lean processes to optimize inventory management and logistics.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in purchasing and logistics, preferably in an aviation environment.
  • Excellent communication and team ethics skills, with the ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Good computer literacy, with experience in Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
  • Experience with Business Central or other aircraft parts platforms is required.
  • Ability to hold a Full Airside Pass and a clean driving license.
