About the Role

Newport Pagnell Medical Centre is seeking a temporary Healthcare Assistant to join their team for approximately 6 months. The successful candidate will work part-time, approximately hours per week, and will be responsible for supporting the nursing team in the provision and delivery of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care
  • Apply clinical skills and knowledge to carry out high-quality practice within designated clinical areas
  • Support the nursing team in the delivery of patient care, including venepuncture, phlebotomy checks, new patient health checks, and clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
  • Prepare and maintain environments and equipment before, during, and after patient care interventions
  • Provide valuable health promotion and education for service users, their families, and carers
Requirements
  • Successful completion of the Care Certificate
  • Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or equivalent
  • Experience of working within a GP practice
  • Strong clinical skills and confidence in all HCA duties required for the post
  • Excellent patient-facing communication and interpersonal skills
  • Consistently confidential manner, as well as a compassionate and respectful approach
  • Ability to work independently and determine own workload priorities
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
