Communications Specialist

A leading secondary school and sixth form in Barking & Dagenham is seeking a dedicated Speech and Language/Linguistics Graduate to join their team as a full-time Speech and Language/Linguistics Graduate. The ideal candidate will possess a strong academic background in Speech and Language or Linguistics from a top 15 UK university and have experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs.
The successful candidate will work closely with the school's Speech and Language team, implementing tailored speech and language interventions for SEN students. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience, develop communication skills, and support academic growth in a dynamic school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support for SEN students to help with speech and language development
- Collaborating with Speech and Language professionals to implement effective interventions
- Working closely with the school's SENDCo and Speech and Language team to ensure seamless integration of services
Requirements:
- Degree in Speech and Language or Linguistics from a top 15 UK university
- Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
