Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Community Outreach and Engagement Coordinator to join our team. This is a 36-month fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to increase community participation in our centenary celebration project.
  • Organize community events, collect oral histories, and help coordinate the Bioblitz event.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with diverse socio-economic groups within the Haslemere community.
  • Deliver programming relating to our centenary celebration project to community outreach clients.
  • Produce and maintain databases of community contacts.
  • Help train volunteers to assist with recording oral histories.
  • Use the Museum's handling collection and loan boxes for community engagement.
  • Monitor and review the community engagement programme.
  • Support the promotion and publicity of community engagement.
  • Participate on the Saturday working rota as required.
  • Awareness of Safeguarding policies and issues.
  • Maintenance of DBS check.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.

Working Arrangements

This role is based at Haslemere Educational Museum and involves working three days a week, 9am-5pm.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £35,000 per annum, depending on experience.
