About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic and innovative integrated therapy team at Whittington Health. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality therapy services to children and young people in mainstream primary and secondary schools.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop innovative therapy services that support integrated clinical care pathways.
  • Develop a new Universal core training offer to mainstream schools to meet sensory and motor-based needs of children and young people.
  • Work closely with the Pathway Leads and actively design and implement service development projects across schools.
  • Maintain a clinical caseload of children and young people in mainstream schools, working as an autonomous practitioner within your specialist area.
  • Develop effective and evidence-based interventions, including targeted programs, while working collaboratively with teaching staff.
  • Be responsible for organizing and prioritizing your workload across the service.

Person Specification

  • NVQ level 2 or equivalent standard of literacy and numeracy.
  • Masters level modules or equivalent courses in speciality.
  • HCPC registration (desirable).

Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of the evidence base of rehabilitation relating to specialist area.
  • Excellent specific therapy assessment and treatment skills in field of specialism, utilizing a range of approaches.
  • Able to independently manage your own and others' clinical caseload and prioritize as required.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills with all disciplines and agencies.
  • Clear, concise verbal and written reporting skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills of complex information.
  • IT skills, including word processing and Excel.

Knowledge and Experience

  • An awareness of NHS Plan, NSF, and clinical governance priorities.
  • Appropriate assessment tools for this client group.
  • Current issues in the delivery of community-based services.
  • Sound understanding of confidentiality.
