Job Summary
NHS Highland is seeking a highly skilled Medical Officer to join our team in Argyll and Bute. As a key member of our Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service, you will work closely with local GPs to enhance shared care provision and provide a comprehensive medical recovery service for individuals with substance use problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective strategies to reduce drug harms and drug-related deaths in Argyll and Bute
- Work in partnership with local GPs to enhance shared care provision and provide a route to step up care for those with complex needs
- Provide a comprehensive medical recovery service for individuals with substance use problems, including a clinical caseload and support from other team members
- Collaborate with the core service to respond to the needs of the population and implement MAT standards
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders, including GPs and other healthcare professionals
Requirements
- Good interpersonal skills and a commitment to partnership working
- Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment and individually
- GMC registration with License to Practice
- GP background or other background with a genuine interest in the field of substance use
- Previous relevant experience is desirable
