Job Summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to lead our Regional Adolescent Inpatient Service. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide medical leadership and work closely with colleagues to deliver high-quality care to young people with complex psychiatric disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical leadership and guidance to the multidisciplinary team
  • Deliver high-quality care to young people with complex psychiatric disorders
  • Work closely with colleagues to develop and implement evidence-based pathways of care
  • Take Responsible Medical Officer (RMO) responsibilities for patients within the regional adolescent inpatient service
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions
Requirements
  • Full GMC registration and a licence to practice
  • Higher specialist training leading to CCT in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR)
  • Experience of working in tier 3 or 4 child and adolescent psychiatry services
  • Registration as an Approved Medical Practitioner according to the terms of the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act
