Key Responsibilities

The EH&S Compliance Officer will be a key member of Apache Corporation's EH&S team, reporting to the EH&S Manager at the Aberdeen office.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and industry guidelines, working closely with Managers, Technical Authorities, and Business Process Owners.
  2. Provide expert support and guidance to onshore and offshore teams to ensure activities comply with relevant legislation, best practices, and industry guidelines.
  3. Support the development and oversight of regulatory submissions and reporting, providing guidance on reportability of incidents to relevant regulatory bodies.
  4. Interface with regulatory bodies during inspections, investigations, or formal enforcement action, facilitating regulatory inspections as required.
  5. Travel to offshore locations to conduct investigations, training, audits, and accompany regulatory inspections as needed.
  6. Conduct on-site inspections to ensure safety standards are met and consistently managed.
  7. Ensure the effectiveness of the Apache Business Management System and manage the legal register, keeping relevant departments informed of legislative changes.
  8. Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of HSE-related legislation, corporate, national, and international standards, and industry best practices.
  9. Exhibit excellent analysis and problem-solving skills.
  10. Hold offshore medical and survival/MIST training certificates, with offshore visits as required.
  11. Be an efficient self-starter with the ability to work alone and as part of a team, prioritize tasks, and deliver against deadlines.
  12. Exhibit excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
