The EH&S Compliance Officer will be a key member of Apache Corporation's EH&S team, reporting to the EH&S Manager at the Aberdeen office.
Key Accountabilities- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and industry guidelines, working closely with Managers, Technical Authorities, and Business Process Owners.
- Provide expert support and guidance to onshore and offshore teams to ensure activities comply with relevant legislation, best practices, and industry guidelines.
- Support the development and oversight of regulatory submissions and reporting, providing guidance on reportability of incidents to relevant regulatory bodies.
- Interface with regulatory bodies during inspections, investigations, or formal enforcement action, facilitating regulatory inspections as required.
- Travel to offshore locations to conduct investigations, training, audits, and accompany regulatory inspections as needed.
- Conduct on-site inspections to ensure safety standards are met and consistently managed.
- Ensure the effectiveness of the Apache Business Management System and manage the legal register, keeping relevant departments informed of legislative changes.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of HSE-related legislation, corporate, national, and international standards, and industry best practices.
- Exhibit excellent analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Hold offshore medical and survival/MIST training certificates, with offshore visits as required.
- Be an efficient self-starter with the ability to work alone and as part of a team, prioritize tasks, and deliver against deadlines.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
