**About the role**
Balfour Beatty are currently looking for a **Regional Fleet Compliance Officer **to join our Asset & Technology Solutions team.

**This position is a regional based role covering: Scotland & North of England.**

Within this role you'll support commercial vehicle fleet operations within the geographical area ensuring all road fleet compliance policies and legislative requirements are adhered to. Whilst also ensuring on a local level, an efficient service delivery of commercial vehicle fleet & driver legal compliance to uphold the BB Group Operator Licence statutory undertakings.
**What you'll be doing**
As a** Regional Fleet Compliance Officer **you'll:

- Ensure adherence at site level by assisting the Transport Managers in upholding the Balfour Beatty Group Operator Licence statutory/legal undertakings.
- To be the focal point for day to day transport and driver compliance activities.
- Regularly attend sites to uphold fleet compliance & support operations.
- Monitor & support site staff to ensure all vehicle & driver records are up to date and valid.
- Support & facilitate both heavy goods vehicle & ancillary equipment maintenance events.
- Ensure that drivers pre-use check & defect reporting is completed using the APP based system.
- Coordination of tachograph VU & driver cards downloads, reporting & infringement actions.
- Carry out driver responsibility briefings/training/inductions/toolbox talks via both e-learning and face to face on company policy & legislation.
- Support & facilitate driving licence checks, permit to drive renewals & DCPC training as well as any other transport related competencies.
- Carry out regular basic vehicle roadworthiness spot checks & weight checks on the commercial fleet.
- Hold regular, structured update meetings with site leaders and supervisors.
- Ensure all related systems are kept up to date & valid both promptly & accurately.
- Report all near miss events.
- To undertake any other duties & deal with matters related to fleet disciplines which can be reasonably expected of this position.

**Who we're looking for**
You will have the following:
**_ Essential _**
- Previous experience of vehicle fleet operations
- Communication Skills (Written & Verbal)
- Presentation Skills
- Ability to work self
- sufficiently on assigned tasks
- Strong organisational skills
- IT literate (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Full UK’ driving Licence

**_Desirable_**
- Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Haulage, or be willing to train for the qualification.
- Membership of Professional body e.g. IRTE, CILT
- Experience/understanding of FORS/CLOCS standards
- Category C or above driving Licence
- Product Knowledge (HGV Familiarisation)
- Previous experience of vehicle engineering
