Experienced Phlebotomy Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Care New England Health System. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients, processing specimens, and ensuring accurate patient information.
Key Responsibilities- Collect blood samples from patients using venipunctures, finger sticks, and heel sticks, adhering to aseptic techniques and established procedures.
- Enter patient information into the hospital system, verifying demographics, updating insurance information, and administering ABNs as needed.
- Organize and distribute workload in phlebotomy, prioritizing routine, time-sensitive, or stat orders to ensure timely results for providers.
- Order tests in the computer system and contact physicians as needed to clarify test requests.
- File and scan scripts, insurance information, and prepare reports for delivery to doctors' offices.
- Prepare samples for courier pickup or delivery to the appropriate department to maintain specimen integrity.
- Maintain a proper inventory of supplies to minimize downtime and ensure continuous service.
- Clean and maintain phlebotomy work areas, carts, and equipment according to established procedures.
- Assist with the training of new employees and perform phlebotomy responsibilities at assigned locations.
A high school diploma and a minimum of six months of job-related experience or equivalent are required. Phlebotomy certification is also necessary for all employees hired after 2012.
