Experienced Phlebotomy Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Care New England Health System. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients, processing specimens, and ensuring accurate patient information.
Key Responsibilities- Sample Collection: Obtain blood samples from patients using venipunctures, finger sticks, and heel sticks, adhering to aseptic techniques and established procedures.
- Order Entry and Verification: Enter patient information into the hospital system, verifying demographics, insurance, and administering ABNs as needed.
- Workload Management: Organize and distribute phlebotomy workload, ensuring timely results for providers.
- Test Ordering and Communication: Order tests in the computer system and communicate with physicians regarding test requests.
- Sample Preparation and Delivery: Prepare samples for courier pickup or delivery to the appropriate department, maintaining specimen integrity.
- Supply Management and Maintenance: Maintain a proper inventory of phlebotomy supplies, minimizing downtime.
- Cleanliness and Organization: Clean and maintain phlebotomy work areas, carts, and equipment according to established procedures.
- Training and Development: Assist with the training of new employees.
- Location-Specific Responsibilities: Perform phlebotomy duties at assigned locations, as determined by the manager to meet departmental needs.
A high school diploma and a minimum of six months of job-related experience or equivalent are required. Phlebotomy certification is also necessary for all employees hired during or after 2012.
