Phlebotomy Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Care New England Health System. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients and processing them for laboratory testing.
Key Responsibilities- Sample Collection: Obtain blood samples from patients using venipunctures, finger sticks, and heel sticks, while maintaining aseptic techniques and following established procedures.
- Order Entry and Verification: Enter patient information into the hospital system, verifying demographics, insurance, and administering ABNs as needed.
- Workload Management: Organize and distribute workload in phlebotomy, ensuring timely results for providers.
- Test Ordering and Communication: Order tests in the computer and communicate with physicians regarding test requests.
- Sample Preparation and Delivery: Prepare samples for courier pickup and deliver them to the appropriate department to ensure specimen integrity.
- Supply Management and Maintenance: Maintain a proper inventory of supplies and clean and maintain phlebotomy work areas, carts, etc.
- Training and Support: Assist with the training of new employees and perform phlebotomy responsibilities at assigned locations.
A high school diploma and a minimum of six months of job-related experience or equivalent are required. Phlebotomy certification is also necessary for all employees hired during or after 2012.
