Experienced Phlebotomy Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Care New England Health System. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients and processing them for laboratory testing.
Key Responsibilities- Collect Blood Samples: Obtain blood samples from patients using venipunctures, finger sticks, and heel sticks, while maintaining aseptic techniques and following established procedures.
- Enter Patient Information: Accurately enter patient information into the hospital system, verifying demographics, insurance, and administering ABNs as needed.
- Organize Workload: Distribute workload in phlebotomy, including routine, time-specific, or stat orders, to ensure timely results for providers.
- Order Tests: Order tests in the computer and contact physicians as needed to clarify test requests.
- Prepare Samples: Prepare samples for courier pickup and/or deliver samples to the appropriate department to ensure specimen integrity.
- Maintain Supplies: Maintain a proper inventory of supplies needed to provide continuous service, minimizing downtime.
- Clean Work Areas: Clean and maintain phlebotomy work areas, carts, etc., utilizing established procedures.
- Train New Employees: Assist with the training of new employees.
- Perform Other Duties: Perform all other related duties as assigned.
A high school diploma and a minimum of six months job-related experience or equivalent is required. All employees hired during or after 2012 must have Phlebotomy certification.
