Job Title: Refugee Resettlement Welfare Officer

Location: Havering

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

Salary: £16.35 per hour

Are you passionate about providing support to individuals newly settled in our community? Our client is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Refugee Resettlement Welfare Officer to join their team.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing advice and welfare support to individuals who have recently arrived in our community. This will include conducting home visits to ensure the safety and suitability of sponsored housing, providing accurate translation services, and collaborating with the Resettlement Housing team to manage client housing needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct home visits to assess the safety and suitability of sponsored housing
  • Provide accurate translation services and maintain documentation in multiple languages
  • Collaborate with the Resettlement Housing team to escalate and follow up on client housing needs
  • Develop and lead activities to engage newly settled communities and contribute to their integration into local culture and life
  • Actively communicate with the community to identify new clients and publicise our services

Requirements:

  • Experience in delivering benefit assessments and advice to individuals in need
  • Knowledge of national and local benefits and relief support systems
  • Familiarity with online benefit assessment systems like Entitled To
