About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialist Refugee Integration Officer to join our team at Hestia Housing Support. As a key member of our Homelessness Prevention Service, you will play a crucial role in supporting refugees who are at risk of homelessness or are already homeless.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate a frontline service for refugees, working closely with 7 West London boroughs to provide holistic support and solutions.
  • Apply specialist knowledge of housing and homelessness legislation to relieve homelessness and sustain tenancy, including private rented housing, the Homelessness Reduction Act, and Housing Act.
  • Negotiate with local lettings agents, private landlords, and other agencies to find optimal solutions for clients' housing needs.
  • Deliver against individual financial outcome targets and service standards on a weekly basis, managing a busy client caseload and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Travel may be required for property viewings and building relationships with local organizations to ensure successful integration and tenancy sustainability.
  • Undertake comprehensive assessments and ongoing reviews of client needs, creating co-produced Integration Plans and implementing actions to improve housing options and community integration.
  • Develop and maintain effective working partnerships with statutory, voluntary, and commercial organizations to address the holistic needs of customers.

Requirements
  • Demonstrate knowledge, experience, or relevant qualifications in housing and homelessness legislation, including private rented housing, rough sleeping, the Homelessness Reduction Act, and Housing Act.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in welfare benefits legislation to support service users effectively.
  • Be solution-focused and proactive in achieving high-quality client work and results in a fast-paced and outcome-focused environment.
  • Have previously worked in a target-led environment.
  • Have experience in sourcing, negotiating, and maintaining relationships with agents and landlords in the private rented sector.
  • Be able to positively manage a busy client caseload and own workload in line with service standards and Hestia values.
  • Be proficient in using computer systems and databases as part of daily tasks.
  • Have strong communication skills and ability to record good-quality data, case notes, plans, and outcomes accurately and timely.
  • Be able to build relationships with team members, statutory, and non-statutory organizations.
