Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic individual to join our team as a Mental Health Assistant. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in providing students with 1-1 support and attention throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with complex needs, learning disabilities, and social, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • Encourage students to maintain focus and work towards achieving independence and life skills.
  • Develop an understanding of additional needs and how to support children facing challenges while in education.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff and on-site professionals to ensure a comprehensive support system.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive school environment.

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree in a field such as psychology, criminology, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Emotional intelligence and a genuine interest in seeing students succeed.
