Principal Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Principal Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer to join a new team based in Cambridge. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in flood risk assessments, surface water management plans, and drainage strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Flood risk assessments for flood zones 1, 2, and 3.
  • Surface water management plans.
  • Surface water and foul drainage strategies.
  • Detailed design of surface water and foul water drainage systems.
  • SuDS Design using Microdrainage for residential tower blocks, solar, renewable, greenfield developments, and waste projects.
  • Drainage Impact Assessments.
  • Manage and mentor team members and manage projects.

The successful candidate will have a BSc and/or MSc in Civil Engineering or Hydrology and experience working for a UK based Consultancy or Local Authority completing Flood Risk Assessments, Surface Water Drainage Strategies, and Drainage Design using Microdrainage. Candidates should also have experience mentoring junior team members or managing projects.
