Principal Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer Opportunity

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Principal Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer to join a new team based in Newmarket. Our client, a specialist UK-based Engineering Consultancy, is looking for an experienced professional to lead their flood risk and drainage projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead flood risk assessments for flood zones 1, 2, and 3.
  • Develop surface water management plans.
  • Design surface water and foul drainage strategies.
  • Create detailed designs for surface water and foul water drainage systems.
  • Design SuDS systems using Microdrainage for residential tower blocks, solar, renewable, greenfield developments, and waste projects.
  • Conduct drainage impact assessments.
  • Mentor and manage team members and projects.
  • Contribute to business development by promoting the company's services to new and existing clients.

Requirements:

  • BSc and/or MSc in Civil Engineering or Hydrology.
  • Experience working for a UK-based Consultancy or Local Authority on flood risk assessments, surface water drainage strategies, and drainage design.
  • Ability to mentor junior team members and manage projects.
