About the Role

The Church of England is seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant to join the small office team that supports the Bishop of Durham's Office in Auckland Castle. The successful candidate will provide general administrative support, with particular responsibility for book-keeping/accounts and monitoring processes relating to clergy training and renewals of permission to minister.

Main Responsibilities
  • Financial Management: Manage the budget, including dealing with day-to-day financial matters, online banking, and keeping accurate records.
  • Safeguarding Training Administration: Oversee the administration of safeguarding training bookings for clergy and those who hold a Bishop's Licence.
  • Permission to Officiate Processing: Process applications for Permission to Officiate within the Diocese.
  • General Office Administration: Provide general administrative support to the office team.
