About the Role

Practice Plus Group, a leading provider of NHS services in secure environments, is seeking a dedicated Substance Misuse Nurse to join our team at HMP Leeds. This full-time position offers a competitive salary up to £46,500 per annum, depending on experience.

This role requires applicants to have a legal right to work in the UK on a permanent basis and undergo additional vetting and security checks due to the nature of the position.

As a Substance Misuse Nurse, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team prioritizing patient care through comprehensive assessment and recovery planning. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering treatment options in group and one-to-one settings with a focus on recovery
  • Conducting comprehensive assessments and developing individualized packages of care
  • Liaising with prescribers and Recovery Practitioners on clinical interventions
  • Sometimes supporting dispensing duties
  • Fostering a person-centered approach and commitment to recovery

The successful candidate will have a registered nursing qualification, evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD), RCGP 1 in Substance Misuse or willingness to undertake, and sound clinical substance misuse knowledge. Experience in hospital, community, or prison environments is desirable but not essential.
