Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal EC&I Engineer to enhance our client's engineering capabilities in the industrial gases sector. The successful candidate will possess a robust background in hazardous environments and will be adept at designing sophisticated control systems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and design a variety of safety and control systems tailored for hazardous settings.
- Conduct HAZOP and LOPA studies alongside comprehensive risk assessments.
- Lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
- Supervise site surveys, audits, and installation processes.
- Execute pre-commissioning tests and manage final system setups.
- Utilize Siemens TIA for PLC, HMI, and SCADA programming.
- Be open to potential global travel as required.

Position Requirements:
- Proven experience in designing safety systems compliant with IEC61511 standards.
- Expertise in developing control systems for explosive atmospheres, adhering to BS EN / IEC60079 guidelines.
- Proficient in engaging with HAZOP and LOPA studies and conducting risk assessments.
- Capable of leading Factory and Site Acceptance tests.
- Experience in overseeing site surveys, audits, and installation activities.
- Competent in performing pre-commissioning tests.
- Familiarity with Siemens TIA for PLC, HMI, SCADA, and additional knowledge in Ignition configuration, SQL, and Networking is advantageous.
- Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance.

Remuneration:
- Competitive salary ranging from £65,000 to £70,000, depending on experience.
- Hybrid working model available post-probation.
- Annual bonus structure.
- Standard working hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
- Business mileage reimbursement.
- Generous holiday entitlement of 33 days, inclusive of bank holidays.
