Position Overview:

A Principal EC&I Engineer is sought after by a prominent engineering firm specializing in the Industrial Gases sector. The successful candidate will possess a robust background in hazardous environments and will be proficient in the design of control systems. Responsibilities will include engaging in HAZOP and LOPA studies, with a preference for familiarity with Siemens TIA. Candidates should ideally reside within a reasonable commuting distance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design a variety of Safety and Control systems tailored for hazardous settings.
- Conduct HAZOP and LOPA studies along with comprehensive risk assessments.
- Lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
- Supervise site surveys, audits, and installation activities.
- Execute pre-commissioning tests and manage final setups.
- Utilize Siemens TIA for PLC, HMI, and SCADA programming.
- Potential for international travel as required.

Position Requirements:

- Proven experience in designing safety systems compliant with IEC61511.
- Expertise in control systems for explosive atmospheres in accordance with BS EN / IEC60079.
- Capability to engage in HAZOP and LOPA studies and perform risk assessments.
- Experience leading Factory and Site Acceptance tests.
- Proficient in supervising site surveys, audits, and installation processes.
- Background in conducting pre-commissioning tests.
- Competency in Siemens TIA for PLC, HMI, SCADA, along with knowledge of Ignition configuration, SQL, and Networking is advantageous.
- Must be located within a commutable distance.

Remuneration:

- Competitive salary range of £65,000 - £70,000 depending on experience.
- Hybrid working arrangement available post-probation.
- Annual bonus structure.
- Standard working hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
- Business mileage reimbursement.
- 33 days of holiday, inclusive of bank holidays.
