Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Route Discipline Engineer Leader to join our Wales Route maintenance team. This pivotal role requires a candidate with exceptional financial acumen, the ability to make calm, rational decisions, and confidence in a boardroom setting.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Manage, direct, and lead a team of Route Discipline Engineers.
  2. Direct the Route Engineers work to develop Route specific asset management plans including all maintenance and renewal activity.
  3. Be accountable for developing the combined route asset management plan and making informed decisions based upon asset condition, performance information, and efficiency.

This role involves managing complex systems, setting strategies, and leading people. You will be responsible for developing the combined route asset management plan, monitoring route asset management plans, reviewing investment papers, and managing systems reliability.

Requirements

We are looking for a Chartered Engineer (or working towards) with experience in the integration of complex engineering systems. You should have an understanding of safety management systems and risk assessment techniques, as well as expertise in engineering management in a safety-critical industry.
