Education Support Specialist

Step Teachers is currently looking for an experienced Education Support Specialist in Didcot to work as a general class Teaching Assistant across Key Stage 1. This role will continue until the end of the spring term, ideally full time but part time or job share alternatives are also considered; there is also the potential for this to be extended into the summer term.
This Primary School is part of a Multi-Academy trust and dedicated to developing children not just through their academic learning, but as a well-rounded individual as well. The school has a one form-entry and strives for learning to be both enjoyable and challenging.
Role of an Education Support Specialist:
- Support students in the class under the direction of the class teacher
- Maintain a tidy and organised classroom with accessible resources where needed
- Work effectively with other members of staff in the classroom and throughout the school
- Ability to support students on a whole class, small group and one-to-one basis, and encourage their progression
- Implement school policies effectively
Requirements of an Education Support Specialist:
- Recent experience working in a Primary School or with school-aged children
- A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification is desirable
- SEND experience is desirable
