About the Role

The University of Bristol is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking leader to join its Student Diversity and Inclusion team as the Head of Student Success. This exciting opportunity will see you lead a team focused on improving equality of opportunity for students from disadvantaged backgrounds to access, succeed in, and progress from higher education.

As the Head of Student Success, you will work closely with the Assistant Director for Student Diversity and Inclusion to ensure the successful delivery of the University's Access and Participation Plan. You will develop innovative Widening Participation strategies and collaborate with the wider Student Diversity and Inclusion leadership team to plan new transition provision for students from under-represented groups once they are at the university.

The successful applicant will be a data-informed, decisive leader who can foster collaborative working partnerships to ensure we meet the needs of our student population. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and experience in providing leadership and management, as well as good knowledge of the higher education sector, including awareness of issues in widening participation and student inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Student Diversity and Inclusion team to deliver the University's Access and Participation Plan
  • Develop innovative Widening Participation strategies
  • Collaborate with the wider Student Diversity and Inclusion leadership team to plan new transition provision for students from under-represented groups
  • Foster collaborative working partnerships to ensure we meet the needs of our student population

We are looking for someone with the ability to manage a team with complex moving parts, and lead through a period of transition into new strategic direction. You should have excellent interpersonal skills and experience in providing leadership and management, as well as good knowledge of the higher education sector, including awareness of issues in widening participation and student inclusion.
