Join Our Team as an Accessibility and Inclusion Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accessibility and Inclusion Specialist to join our team at Transreport Limited. As an Accessibility and Inclusion Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring that our products and services are accessible and inclusive for all users.

Your primary responsibility will be to lead on inclusivity and accessibility projects that align with our company's accessibility and inclusion strategy. This will involve working closely with our Accessibility and Inclusion Manager to plan and coordinate projects and initiatives that support our company's wider accessibility and inclusion goals.

You will also be responsible for championing and promoting best practice across the company, with a particular focus on product development, marketing, PR, and HR. This will involve providing insights and recommendations for future strategies to improve and enhance our accessibility and inclusion strategies – both internally and externally.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual who has a strong understanding of disability issues and a range of perspectives/models, including the Social Model of Disability and different cultural perspectives. You should also have excellent knowledge of the importance of accessibility and a strong understanding of equality legislation.

In addition to your technical skills and knowledge, you should be a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should be able to work effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization and be able to build strong relationships with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead on inclusivity and accessibility projects that align with our company's accessibility and inclusion strategy
  • Champion and promote best practice across the company, with a particular focus on product development, marketing, PR, and HR
  • Provide insights and recommendations for future strategies to improve and enhance our accessibility and inclusion strategies – both internally and externally
  • Develop knowledge of legislation, regulation, and Government policy within the transport industry related to accessibility and end-users experiences, and effectively communicate this throughout the company
  • Support with the business development activities
  • Champion best practice in disability equality and accessibility within our supply chain and partners
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of disability issues and a range of perspectives/models, including the Social Model of Disability and different cultural perspectives
  • Excellent knowledge of the importance of accessibility and a strong understanding of equality legislation
  • Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization and build strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Experience of planning and delivering presentations
  • Ability to work with data
  • Project management experience, organisational skills, and managing deadlines
  • Confident advocate of the social model of disability, intersectionality, and key political concepts
  • Well-versed and up-to-date with disability rights issues, campaign priorities related to transport, and emerging consumer expectations
