Edinburgh, Edinburgh, United Kingdom NHS Scotland Full time

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Emergency Medicine Specialist to join our team at University Hospital Wishaw. As a Consultant in Emergency Medicine, you will work within the Emergency Department, which is a Trauma Unit within the Scottish Trauma Network and the NHS Lanarkshire centre for emergency orthopaedics.

The department has an annual attendance of 80,000, with approximately 25% of its attendances being paediatric. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working closely with emergency medicine trainees, specialty doctors, clinical fellows, and other healthcare professionals to provide patient-centred care.

We offer a supportive and enthusiastic team environment, with a well-established self-rostering system in place. Clinical administration time has been factored in as per RCEM guidance, and we have no plans to move to consultant night-shifts.

As a Clinical Lead in Emergency Medicine, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the training and development of the entire team, expanding our motivated, enthusiastic, and dedicated team to continue to provide excellent, progressive care.

NHS Lanarkshire welcomes applications from both newly qualified and established Consultants in Emergency Medicine. We encourage applicants who wish to arrange job plans to accommodate other professional interests to apply.

The job is offered as a full-time post on a 10 PA basis, including up to 2 non-DCC. Applications will be considered from those wishing to work less than full-time. If full-time, up to 2 EPAs may be available to undertake additional clinical activity.

We have close links with the University of Glasgow, and our medical students benefit greatly from the excellent educational opportunities provided by the board in both primary and secondary care.

NHS Lanarkshire are happy to consider requests for this publication to be in another accessible format, such as large print or braille.
