Oral Medicine Service Opportunities

Applicants must have full GDC Registration and be eligible for inclusion in the GDC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the appointment date. Portfolio Pathway doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once it has been awarded. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.

Applications are welcome for the above permanent, part-time (32 hours per week) post based in Lauriston Building.

This 8 PA consultant post offers an opportunity to be an integral member of the oral medicine team at Edinburgh Dental Institute (EDI). The appointee will work closely with the oral surgery and paediatric dental teams at the EDI and the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People (RHCYP) to provide clinical care for patients with oral mucosal disease, salivary disorders, oral mucosal dysplasia, and facial pain.

The postholder will be expected to develop an efficient and effective oral medicine service within the EDI to meet the needs of patients within available resources.

The postholder will work closely with colleagues to deliver excellence in clinical care, teaching, and research and be involved in quality improvement activity and training of junior hospital staff.
